Steering and Suspension in Action

This diagram shows how the control arms (A-Arms) keep the wheel in its proper position as the wheel moves up and down from bumps in the road. The steering action can occur at the same time, since the spindle is fastened to the A-Arms via the upper and lower ball joints. All of the components are ultimately fastened to the chassis.
